The Wish Machine

Inspired both by the traditional wishing trees of India and the wish vending machines of Japanese temples, Chrysanne Stathacos' work, The Wish Machine, strives to "empower people with the notion that one can make their own wishes come true." A website based on Chrysanne's public sculpture of the same name, it is an opportunity for people to consider their own desires and make their wishes known in a public space thus, the artist hopes, creating "a forum for hope, hope for a free Tibet, hope for a cure to AIDS, hope for universal love." Chrysanne Stathacos is one of the many artists in league with World Artists for Tibet and their goal of educating the public about the plight of the Tibetan people.
